DigitalOcean vs Linode: Which did you choose and why?

Vultr has bad support and poor network availability (in Dallas anyway).

In the past 4 months, my voice server has had multiple instances of network flapping. Beyond that, the latency spikes to near-unusable upon occasion.

Neither one of those by themselves are enough to dump a provider. Their response is,though.

I've opened several tickets with them over the past months asking why it's happening, and complaining that there is no notification mechanism for them to tell me proactively that there is an issue. I called them out on this yesterday:

The listed VM has had network failures 6 or so times between 1830 and 1900 CST today.

This is not the first time this has occurred with this VM; this is evident in previous trouble tickets I've created. Is it a datacenter network issue, or a virtual host issue? Why does it occur repeatedly? I will have to move to another host if root cause cannot be discovered by your teams. Please provide me some info on this.

Additionally, there is no availability panel to proactively check (on my part) whether your teams are even aware of issues. I would suggest some kind of dashboard for such alerts and statuses.

Here is their complete response.

We are aware of, and are actively mitigating some issues that may cause sporadic temporary latency and packet loss in the Dallas location. Please let us know if you notice any residual difficulty going forward. We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter.

I have no more patience for a service that gives zero alerting and zero discussion to a user. FWIW I've been using them for almost a year, and have spent close to $100 with them. I'm not some newbie complaining on my first week.
