Jess Phillips reads out names of women killed by men in UK in the last year - Politics.co.uk

The only way we are going to get social change is if we stop jamming up these discussions with the likes of whataboutism.

These discussions need to run a course - which is leading to examination, but also more awareness. Today, or right now is about this specific issue, just because other issues aren't being spoken about doesnt mean they are forgotten or ignored, there are just small and rare opportunities that present themselves for a national focus on forms of abuse (in this case ... murder) that get jammed up almost instantly by people seeing that crack in the door of the discussion openning and all trying to run through it at once like 3 stooges, and getting jammed up (and thats a polite way of putting it).

I am a man, I was abused for 14 of my first 18 years of my life. None of its talked about, men, women or children. We get a win that Jess Philips gets a pass to talk longer in parliament about this, and, hell, even if its just a few, these discussions often become click baity. Its not about who has it worse, no one is trying to "win" the game of abuse. Its about not much is done (many probably feel like nothing is done) - how do we get things started, because if it does happen, and educate, make aware and actively combat abuse, its better ... for everyone, period, regardless of who or where it starts.
