Shadowdark ‘better’ than Old School Essentials?

Maybe not a popular opinion, but Shadowdark is a game that has hugely benefited from the Wotc debacle and a more "diverse" audience looking for games to fill the gap. Just to be clear, I am not saying this to degrade or criticize the hard work of the author at all. From what I have gathered, she has been working hard in the 5e community and appears to be putting out another high quality product.

I am specifically speaking of all the marketing and hype that has been spread about a game that seems rather standard. There is nothing innovative here to warrant the pandemonium caused by all the hype on every feed.

I still think it is fantastic that if I am correct about the exodus from 5e, people are moving towards a more simple and wonderful way of playing ttrpgs. For me, there are far better game systems currently available. Just my opinion.
