Why has the discovery of quantum mechanics seemingly not caused scientists to rethink the paranormal?

But what I'm asking is -- why isn't anyone testing these phenomena? My understanding is they haven't been rigorously analyzed and tested using the scientific method because they were so fundamentally incongruent with the known physical laws of nature that they were deemed too absurd too even consider.

Is this incorrect? And if not, how would one justify that it's not worth studying, particularly now that we've proven that mechanisms exist that might be involved in these phenomena? If we can no longer deem it incomprehensible through the known laws of nature, what is the reason we refuse to study it?
