DISCUSSION - How technology has changed the music industry in recent years??

Cutting it short, artists have zero mystique about them these days, everything you want to know is right there a split second away rather than it being in pockets of information spread out over different mediums, over the span of years.

Maybe you're looking for music in the wrong places then if this is something you don't like.

Just out of interest, when was the last time you set foot in a vinyl based record store?

I was going to mention something about electronic music being the realm of the middle classes until very recently, but that's going off on a tangent I guess.

REALLLY?

Explain 90s raves in the uk like World Dance, Spiral Tribe etc that were predominately lower levels of working class with low incomes or on benefits etc?

Explain the rise of ACID HOUSE in the 80s in a small lancashire mill town which is ALL working class descendents of ex cotton mill workers?

Explain uk garage and grime exploding out of high rise tower blocks and council estates in london.

Explain dubstep growing out of the shithole that is croydon.

Even fucking Aphex Twin used to live in a shitty flat in Cornwall for fucks sake.
