[Discussion] Anyone Else Excited For The Justice League Movie In 2017?

What would you consider to not be Marvel's formula? Because from what I've seen, DC has not done the "Marvel formula" in the least. Man of Steel was a stand-alone film with absolutely no tie-in or even hint of a specific future plotline outside of Superman existing and being a hero. Batman V. Superman was an introduction of two heroes, and a film about building the relationship between Batman and Superman (with the most amount of connective tissue of any of the three films). Suicide Squad was a team-up movie made up of people who have nothing to do with the previous stories (outside of the presence of Batman and the Flash), and is mostly a stand-alone film. Marvel set up each character (with post-credit scenes as major hints as to where the story is going), gave Infinity Stones as connective tissue (making sure that the consequences of each character's story will be present in future events), and then did a team-up film. Complaining about the films themselves is one thing, but I genuinely don't understand when people say it is in any way a variation on Marvel's formula when they've not done anything remotely similar to Marvel's build-up outside of wait a bit for their first hero team film.

Saying it's expediting the process implies it can only be paced and plotted in one way, and I very much disagree with that. Just because you don't agree with the way they're telling the story doesn't mean that Marvel's way is the only one that can exist.
