I just realised that Trump’s presidency has basically finished now. The 2018 election season is starting so the party isn’t going to go for any legislation until afterwards (historically), and the chances are that there’ll be a D House and possibly a D Senate (looks more likely every day, McCaskill is safer due to Missouri Republican incompetence, and Nevada and Arizona have consistent polling leads for the Democrat), so nothing will happen in the 2019-2021 congress. And then we have the 2020 campaign starting very soon after the midterms, with it going into full swing by October 2019 (and hence shutting down D.C. until January 2021).

All of Trump’s accomplishments have likely already happened, and because of the cyclical nature of this stupid election system that we have, the Republicans almost certainly will not have a trifecta for at least another 8 years. (it’s better for them if Trump loses in 2020 tbqh)

So all that colossal effort over the past 8 years by the Republican party literally only yielded one mediocre tax bill. lmao. Oh well.
