Liberal on:

  • welfare. My ideal society would probably have a welfare state with a size closer to the average Nordic country, than to the current American welfare system (although it would probably be implemented differently i.e. NIT mostly and HSA)

  • pretty much every social issue (LGBT rights, legalize weed pls, less stupid alcohol regulations)

  • heavy immigration reform. In the short term, I'd like to see it become significantly easier for American based companies to hire high skilled workers from abroad (and I don't set a very high barrier when I say high skilled, like $60k+ jobs)

  • student loan reform. I'd like to see a graduate tax. Something I've read here that sounds good (to me at least, but IANAE), is a system where colleges effectively only get X% of your salary for Y years after graduation (both variables are decided before student graduates). To me, this sounds like it would heavily incentives colleges to make people employable, rather than just trying to get people to enroll and pay fees

Conservative on:

  • 0 corporate tax
