Discussion: What are your opinions on current fiasco about an employee sharing his views among 51k+ of his colleagues whether they agree or not and the consequence for that opinion?

Hes one of the ones perpetuating the stereotypes that somehow we had an easier time getting into this field as if we didnt have to study algorithms and apply through the same interview processes as others.

Oh, I hate that! Every time someone brings up diversity on these forums, I see tons of crap aimed at those who are considered part of what they describe to be the "diversity problem."

As a minority myself, I've faced this several times and can't begin to tell you how frustrating it is - but you know, you've been there - for someone to suggest we only got our job because of our gender or skin color. Also, I work with a lady who is a Scala dev as well, and she's very intelligent and knows her stuff.

At the end of the day, it's his opinion and I support his right to share it. On the flip side, I support his employer's right to fire him for it too. If he created a hostile work environment for others, almost nobody will even bother to keep him at that point. Work is all about collaboration and achieving goals together to better the company, not your own personal diatribes.
