Measureables and timings of all TE's for comparison: http://walterfootball.com/combine2015TE.php

At 6'7" and 261 lbs he has a very nice frame. He's a big target that should be able to stay healthy. He is a dual threat TE that can catch the ball and also block. His 26 bench reps shows his strength and was the best of all TE's. His 4.83 40 measures up to guys even 10 lbs lighter than him. His 37.5" vertical is the best of all TE's. He had 33" arms and 9 3/8" hands which are good enough numbers even if they aren't the best at his position.

When he's running routes, I like how he comes back to the QB to protect the QB from throwing an INT. He's always working even when the play breaks down to get open and be an outlet pass. He can find the soft spots in zones to sit down in. I noticed him rounding his routes a bit, so I think he's a little raw in running an NFL route tree, but that is teachable.

As for his production, he doesn't have the most but it's common for colleges to under-utilize their TE's. He did increase his reception total and receiving yards total each year, which is nice to see (although his avg/reception went down each year).

As for the conference, he played in the Big 10 at Penn St, so playing against good competition isn't a problem. He has plenty of experience blocking which should help him at the next level. One thing I love about him is that he is a true Jr so he's only 20 years old (about to turn 21). That explains some of the rawness, and if he works out a team will have him for a long time. He'll be 24-25 after his first contract is up, much like Randall Cobb this year. He's a projected mid-3rd round pick right now depending on where you look. I think his weaknesses are coachable and his strengths can't be taught. He's a very interesting prospect in a year where the TE class is pretty weak.
