DK and his 'absolutely not'

I think people here need to reconsider how much hope they are piling on David Kibbe. He literally dresses like Willy Wonka in oversized clothes, and is probably using his "kibbe" system to try and stay relevant.

And then there's his website. He's so desperate to list clientele that he has included ones like Ballantine Book, JCPenney, Little Brown, and Coppertone. The website itself looks dated, and unprofessional. It's quite sad really.

This guy doesn't even have a basic Wikipedia page. He is a nobody, that a few people somehow latched onto. There's probably hundreds of similar books out there claiming to have created a system for identifying your particular body type. Those just flew under the radar. Somehow Kibbe managed to get more than his own friends to believe in his system, and here we are.

As far as I know, there isn't even a significant social media presence covering "Kibbe" body types. Googling "kibbe body types" mostly returns individual blogs repeating the same info. Googling "David Kibbe" is even worse, returning minimal results, and the relevancy drops off quickly even by the second result page.

This subreddit is probably the largest community for it, and it's a very small sub by Reddits standards. That should tell you all you need to know about how widespread this "system" is. I'm willing to bet that this system is also seldom used in the fashion industry itself. Simply because if it was, it would be much more popular, and word of mouth would have spread it outward from the fashion insiders to IG "fashionistas" and beyond. Even most fashion "influencers" probably have no idea this Kibbe guy exists.

I recommend everyone not take this system too seriously. It can be fun to figure things out and experiment, but don't overthink anything, especially if you don't find yourself fitting into one type.
