When I was younger I was having a shit ton of GI issues and abdominal cramping, and my primary absolutely refused to believe it was anything other than teenage hormones/PMS/ovulation pains, etc. Wouldn’t do any testing. If I asked for a test she would all but roll her eyes. I went to a different doc after being ignored one to many times and got a real diagnosis (spoiler: it wasn’t PMS). Years later, I was back in town visiting my parents and needed a check-up, so I booked with her office. First thing she asks me: “have your menstrual symptoms gotten any better?” “Nope. Turns out those symptoms were Crohn’s disease.” I wish I could have taken a picture of her face after that.
