[OC] A common struggle in online spaces for many

r/menslib

brings attention to and discusses issues regarding men but because they don’t allow bad actors pretending to care about “men’s issues” to use the sub as a shield for their sexism as bigotry it’s not popular among men who only claim to care about men’s issues as a means to be hateful.

I legitimately gave up on trying to find a place to discuss mens issues. It can't really exist in a neutral space, because it quickly gets taken over by MRA's. Leftwingmaleadvocates was promising when it started, but it's pretty wack for that reason.

It's been such a long time since I stayed away from menslib that I forgot why I left in the first place. After doing some digging, it's basically a sub that's too curated to avoid MRA's and that bothers me. They have a history of removing certain topics (some are listed here and a further explanation here). I don't really even disagree with the rules itself, but I've found them broadly applied and I don't appreciate some potentially legitimate topics just being silenced even if I don't agree with them.

Anyway, I just decided that discussion about mens issues literally can't take place rationally on the internet and just avoid it for my sanity.
