The idea of HAES is more from eating disorder therapy. Even though it's been kind of coopted, it's not saying that somebody IS healthy at any size, it's saying forget the size. Let your body do what it does, and you just try to focus on eating three regular meals, and maybe taking a metric like cholesterol and bringing that into a healthy range, but it's not about size or weight. You put the scale away and stop counting calories, just eat regularly and watch the cholesterol (for example).

It's unfortunate that it's been misinterpreted and mocked because it's really been helping me with the shame. Sometimes I can't even leave the house it hurts so bad to be in this body.
