Why Does 5v7 Still Happen?

I'm going to tag two developer in this thread, so we may be able to get an official response. [/u/MaTts and /u/yer_] . This issue, while still prevalent, is something that has been slowly becoming less and less of an issue. That means they are aware of it, but I'll tag them so you can get an official response from them (or so we'll see.).

Can we clarify something, though?

You need to stop assuming that future content, whether a map pack or a weapon, is consuming development resources in other areas of the game. It's complaining like this that results in the developers ignoring threads like this, and worse, the sub-reddit in general. They come hear to listen to an issue, and then they get lambasted by comments over things they don't even control. I'd understand if this was a studio head, but it isn't. Most of the developers on this sub-reddit are level designers, engineers, artists, or animators. They all have their own section of the game to look after, and suggesting a level designer (for example) is unable to fix a out of map exploit because of supply drops just doesn't make sense. I'd imagine after a while, they just stop listening. For the sake of being able to have a good discussion with the devs and to learn more about issues like these, could we (as a sub-reddit) stop suggesting supply drops are the reason these issues aren't being fixed. I get you're pissed off; we're all pissed off. But let's make sure we blame the right people for what's going on with the drops.

My guess. Treyarch knows about the issue. They've done what they can to minimize the problem, but they can't fix it without compromising parties, or the speed of matchmaking. Black Ops 3 matchmaking is significantly faster than previous entries, and has been tweaked (for example; in ways to stop joining the same lobby over and over again). Unless you can think of another reason that isn't the immature "supply drop" reason.
