why does reddit seem to hate DPS sims?

There's things some people learn in life, and there's things other people don't. One of the things you learn is how much others avoid to learn things.

A lot of people have absolutely no clue how to interpret data, understand how it's generated, or even do basic math like calculate a 20% tip in their head.

The sims are just a bunch of calculations. Input numbers and conditions, add in some RNG, aggregate the data, summarize results into a single number. That's intimidating to some...and even when you turn into into an interface that lets you drag graphic icons and insert round pegs into round holes even that may prove too much.

SO they ask the question and hope you will do the work for them. A lot of people are just really inept, and sims remind them of that.
