This wasn't empathy or mourning though, this was just him thinking for a second before answering. And maybe kinda biting his tongue.

And yeah, maybe the Democratic Party has more true believers(meaning AOC and Sanders) who act honorably, at least for politicians. But most rank and file Dems are just corrupt as any other group of politicians. Politicians of all stripes will distort facts to sway public opinion. Almost all of them take PAC money. Almost all will vote against their conscience regularly. And they will make bad laws with a million sneaky riders and kickbacks and subsidies.

The solution isn't the GOP either. I'm not even saying it's a third party. And you don't need to say that both sides are the same. They're not. But both sides can suck in their own unique ways. If you support more of their ideals then you do the GOP's that's awesome. But while the ideals might be good, that really doesn't mean that the politicians in the party aren't politicians. That's what people mean when they say they're disillusioned. Power should always be questioned. Even people you agree with.
