DON’T LOOK IT UP

A lot of words that can be summed up in one: meta-irony.

The series is written and presented in such a way that leaves it completely up to the viewer whether it is to be taken seriously or not. It’s really quite clever as it puts the author in a comfortable stance of, basically being immune to criticism. Most people would say JJBA is not something to be taken too seriously. Yet, it still has genuinely emotional, spiritual, philosophical themes. That’s why it can get away with something like Nazis helping the main character, or any of the strange behaviors, bizarre plot twists, or as one could say, “memes”. “It’s not that serious, man”.
