All I really want is more subtly. I would say that it's more accurate that I feel personally violated, because the director is deliberately trying to elicit emotion out of me in a cheap (and easy) way.

The original game was much more nuanced and interesting. Joel's decision at the end of the game could be discussed for hours. Mel dying? Yeah, there's really no nuance there.

Abby and her group of followers are incredibly one-note and unlikable characters that the director tried to force me to like through guilt tripping.

Again, I'm not the only one who feels this way. If labeling everyone with that opinion as an 'incel' makes you feel better, go for it.
