I don’t have anything against casting actors of different ethnicities for certain characters and I’m crossing my fingers she’ll do a great job portraying the character!

In this case, I don’t understand why this change was needed though, looking at how diverse the cast already is: We have two Mexican actors (for Joel and Tommy) three people of color (Marlene, Sam, Henry) and also three LGBTQ characters (Ellie, Bill, Frank).

It’s basically another case where the casting will automatically draw out racism against the actress and spark another unneeded controversy, when they easily also could have casted her as a new character, the new leader of the Pittsburgh hunters for example.
