If the BC government thinks that the majority of the driving population can afford to switch over to EVs in the next 10, 15, 20 years, I want what they are smoking. Are they getting the money to fund this through the taxes they get twice on the sale of pre-owned vehicles? Now even more tax because it’s based on the black book value of the vehicle instead of actual sale price.

The push for the electric car is too late. It has become a symbol of wealthy people trying to feel better about themselves.

If I could afford it I would love to drive electric, there are awesome benefits of less maintenance and not having to pay for or use gas. I will never be able to afford or justify the car payments on even the cheapest available EVs and the prices are only going to go up from here.
