They largely really just have no idea these impressions and remains exist. Regarding Prehistoric Planet, my own coworker was saying "they should do a special on mammoths and stuff instead, because they know what they looked like. I mean, they found their remains still preserved in ice n stuff. This is amazing, but it's guessing, even if they did a ton of research to make it." And then another coworker overheard me talking about new findings and chimed in "But did you know they're now thinking T-rex was covered in feathers?????" I had to tell her the chicken thing is pretty outdated, which she didn't seem happy about. I had to also tell him of the feathery tail encased in amber and the full, scaled leg up there. He shrugged it off.

But then, what was I trying to do with the time we had at the water cooler. This is the only place I go to where people are talking about dinosaurs in my life outside what their babies play with.
