Walk me through the stats or examples of how Eric Reid isn't special. Not trying to be condescending but I really don't think you can justify that statement.

You asked why people are downvoting you. It's because some people hate the kneeling for it being disrespectful to the American flag and/or military. Others hate it because they don't think it's a football players place to make these statements. And then there's people like you. Too afraid to admit you have a stance yet willing to openly come out as hugely ignorant at best, or racist at worst.

Disclaimer: I'm Canadian and very proud to be neightbours with the U.S. As such, there is definitely an argument to be made that this isn't my place to get involved. That being said, I feel confident stating my opinion because I proudly stand and sing for both anthems. I'm a firm believer that if the fortunate amoung us can't will themselves to take a stand on fundamental rights issues, then we are fucked.This is one of those moments for me. I don't have a platform nor do I want one, but I won't accept the A) or B) argument. Hate it, love it, the freedom we are all so proud of are not about fighting one another to 'protect' certain rights. It's about being able to live in a country you can be proud of. This is a mainstream issue because our idea of democracy and freedom allows it to be.
