Engagement

Yeah, couples can do whatever they want. That’s why I said it’s just my opinion... in no way was I saying “you better do this”. But I see people come on here with $100 rings too and I personally find it sad. But whatever. If it makes them happy then great.

In MY experience, and friends, $1500 is typically the price of mall jewelry engagement rings, at least here in Canada. And they usually do not hold up or last. But I confess I don’t know much about other random online retailers and buying through them. Someone even suggested a place where the rings are made in China... uhhh. Can you say sketchy AF? Or this new “moissanite” trend. It seems to me moissanite is the new CZ lol. Diamonds have way more dimension and toughness, even the GIA has stated this.

I only just know places like Etsy and Brilliant Earth. Btw, there is a misconception that Etsy is a cheap way to go and it’s not. Depends on what you’re looking for. Maybe there’s other sketchy sites that claim to have say a 14K gold diamond ring for $1200. But I’d definitely be cautious. I still believe in the “you get what you pay for” saying. Independent brick & mortar retailers certainly do charge less and but that doesn’t mean you’ll find a decent ring there for $1500 or under. Quite the opposite.
