Trump replaced the Postmaster General with a man named Louis DeJoy. DeJoy was previously working as a C level executive at XPO Logistics, having no prior USPS experience, but was a top Trump Campaign donor.

Since his appointment, he has enacted a series of policies which systematically handicap the USPS's ability to collect, sort, and deliver mail in a timely fashion. One such order was to remove mass mail sorting machines, another was to remove hundreds of postal delivery boxes, and another was to eliminate over time to push undelivered mail to next day delivery.

Trump has plainly stated that this has all been in an attempt to sabotage the USPS's abilities to collect and deliver mail in ballots for the presidential election. This is not a political spin, this is the express intent of the Trump admin.

This will have other affects. Package delivery will be slowed, harming businesses and people alike. Individuals who count on the mail for important documents, paying bills, or receiving medication may also be affected.
