The EU and NATO are expected to formally issue a joint statement for Russia to stop its war and leave Ukraine, and to pledge full support to Kyiv.

And NATO is afraid what will happen when the Russian army collapses faster than you can say borscht

I wish more people would understand this.

If the russian military collapses, then russia collapses. If russia collapses, 10s of millions of russians will travel west as refugees, in search of food. Nuclear material will be very hard to control, and some will find its way into the hands of non-russian terrorists.

If russia collapses, a bunch of "small" wars will spring up as warlords fight for resources.

If russia collapses, a bunch of bad stuff will happen. People may loathe russians right now, and think "good", but it will absolutely make the world worse.
