F*&CK Lenovo, horrible support, beware.

Well, I won't get into specifics, but I purchased my Y580 October 1st 2012, received it almost December 10th 2012. Trackpad broke December 20th, 2012. Contact support and have them issue warranty repair, they say that my warranty doesn't cover this damage, that only the 3-year bells and whistles warranty covers it. I said that I received that type of warranty with my laptop. It was the promotion they had at the time and the laptop was $400 off (so $1500 laptop plus $300 warranty for $1100 instead of $1800). Spent 40 minutes emailing shit to the rep and proving my warranty was purchased.

The next year (August 2013) my hard drive was failing. Called again, same story. Spent another 40 minutes dealing with the warranty shit.

Then finally, October 2013 the motherboard is failing. Once again, called and issued warranty repair and dealt with the proving my warranty information for another 40 minutes.

First 2 times, laptop returned perfect. Last time, there was poor workmanship all over. Small scratches from tools opening and closing the case and around screw holes, LEDs showing charging/hdd activity/etc weren't segregated properly so I have no idea if my laptop is charging or if it's just hdd activity constantly (I mean, I have an idea, but still, poor repair quality). Didn't bother to send back for repairs because I needed it for school because it was a crunch time.

And to top it off. Last night the screw that anchors the hinge to my laptop broke through the plastic casing so now the top right of my laptop is fucked. Thankfully the hinge itself isn't broken (sister had a Toshiba that had aluminum hinges that literally melted and eroded) and appears to be made of strong aluminum/steel, so I may just 3D print my own little MacGyver support that essentially would be held down by another screw and would hold the screw with the broken support in place
