Fecal transplant turns cancer immunotherapy non-responders into responders - Scientists transplanted fecal samples from patients who respond well to immunotherapy to advanced melanoma patients who don’t respond, to turn them into responders, raising hope for microbiome-based therapies of cancers.

Absolutely. I have autoimmune hepatitis (AIH). My body attacks my liver and causes liver damage over time. Most AIH patients will end up needing liver transplants. Its a rare disease but there is enough research going into it to show that gut microbes may play a part in developing this disease. I haven't read the study in a while but iirc, it was showing that there's a specific microbe found in the gut of some AIH patients. The ones with that microbe have an high chance of their new, healthy transplanted liver developing AIH while those who don't have that microbe do not develop AIH in their new livers. Gut microbiomes are so fascinating. I'm excited for the future and what this could mean for people with cancer and all sorts of other diseases.
