Feeling shame about my house

I was a scholarship kid at a private K-8 and many of my friends lived in houses that were kept up by housekeepers and had pools, home theaters, game rooms, etc. I also had little siblings with toys everywhere.

I never once heard anyone talk badly about my house and my friends loved coming over. They always found nice things to say like “I love your kitchen” or “you have such a great yard!” It honestly amazes me looking back that nobody ever requested we go play at their house instead, or complained that we all had to sleep practically on top of each other in my living room. Just anecdotal but I think kids don’t notice that kind of thing or at least they care more about being with friends and having fun!
