First interview offer with Eintern, what do i do?

Hi burninfate,

This is David, Director of Recruitment and HR at eIntern. Your circumstances are common with the individuals we reach out to. At the end of the day, our associates are required to relocate to a location based on the needs at that time. There's no guarantee where that might be; there's no guarantee that it will be your last move during the commitment period; and there's no guarantee that it will happen immediately after the training. Also, the training is 10 weeks (as opposed to two weeks). After the training, how fast you get placed on a project is determined partially with how well you are able to grasp the technologies. And as a final note, there have been instances in which an individual was not able to grasp the technologies during training and are let go.

Considering you have a family, and we have several associates who are married, I would think it's not realistic for anyone to contribute their opinions without fully understanding your circumstances. Some families are able and open to traveling; others want absolute stability. We offer both but it's based on the market.

The opportunity itself is a winner (of course I'm biased). We're starting to get some media about our program as written about in a recent Forbes magazine article (http://www.forbes.com/sites/ryancraig/2016/01/07/revolution-on-campus-no-risk-pathways-to-high-value-careers/#2715e4857a0b2f21006459ea). Demand for our associates has increased significantly since we rolled out the eInternship model and we have increased the size of the recruitment team to identify more qualified associates to meet this demand.

If I were to offer any suggestions: think about where you and your family want to be in 3 to 5 years, determine if we're a viable means to get there, then and ask yourselves if the challenges and risks are worth it or not. We have always been open about the fact that this is not for everyone, though we also whole-heartedly feel there is no faster way to accomplish long-term career goals in software development as fast as we're able to provide with our training and long client list.

You can email me at [email protected] and mention your recruiter and we can go more into detail about the opportunity and how it relates to your situation.

Thanks.
