AOC Urges Lincoln Project Fund 'People Who Actually Made a Big Difference' After GOP Voters Stay With Trump

You’re right, they aren’t republicans-no politician is either (same goes for the Ds here too). Think about it. Name the last time a politician took a stance based on their principles that damaged their power and influence? Maybe McCain when he didn’t vote against ACA, but he had cancer by that point and knew his time for being a powerbroker was up. They have no ideology, no position, that they would stick to if it meant they’d lose power and/ or influence. Or, conversely, no principle they wouldn’t abandon to retain power and gain influence. It’s why we have had an R Pres and R Senate the last 4 years, but a debt that has ballooned.

When you look at the Lincoln Project as a new player in the field of brokering political power and influence, that’s why their moves are so interesting. What do they think is going to work? At the very least it’s a move away from the evangelical and tea party death grip the R’s have been in for a long time. No idea if it’s going to work, or what it’s going to look like if it does, but it is interesting to watch.
