Legal services are too expensive? Basic item legal services are at their cheapest EVER in American history! You can get a will, POA, most property and civil litigation settlement forms online for free. LegalZoom and its ilk even provide to a T instructions on how to ensure the documents are legally valid.

If you mean that not everyone can afford a lawyer to defend them in a credit card they have not paid on in 2 years, or to draw out a long divorce battle, then you are going far beyond the scope of legal services most people need.

Criminal matters are probably the big one LegalZoom has not saturated. These areas are already soaked to the gussets with young attorneys. To the extent they are not, criminal law exposes the lawyer to danger and retribution sufficient to thwart many newbies. I will never take a criminal case after what a friend from LS had happen to her during her brief stint in crim.

That is why the baby lawyers wash out of the field. There is no point trying to compete with LegalZoom in those areas.
