Thank you for your post. I have a sophomore daughter who is on her second year for competitive LD and she is very much into it. She comes from a private school with a large number of debaters (12 varsity level LDers and 8+ novice LDers) but limited resources on LD coaching (the school has 3 dedicated debate and speech coaches but none of them is good at LD). There are a few things that you might be able to help (1) the debate team is actively searching for a (paid) travel coach - online coaching is fine (2) I am actively looking for a (paid) private coach for my daughter, who has finally been open to a private coaching idea after being defeated by some aggressive spreaders in the recent national circuits. I think your style is fine as she (and most of the other 11 LDers in the same school) are mostly traditional debaters but they would like to be be able to compete with progressive debaters. They are not targeting TOC but more like NSDA/NCFL. I have been travelling with the kids for the last few months and I know their capabilities (smart, dedicated, resourceful, and more importantly - they are already good at traditional LD and have already won some titles).
