I don't know why you're being downvoted, it's not like we're talking about a cosmetic. Technically, Gekko is f2p after grinding 200,000exp, but he's playable in competitive at launch, and the only way to get him at launch is to pay for him/game pass. (The definition of p2p)

This all wouldn't matter if they just locked him in competitive queue for a week or 2. Go ahead and pay to play Gekko on day 1 if you want, but don't throw my competitive games because you want to play a brand new character you have no experience with..

Or, allow new agents in competitive day 1, but force players that unlock a new agent to play through the tutorial (and maybe even 1 unrated mode) with the new character instead of Sova, so that they at least have a tiny bit of an understanding of the character before hopping into comp with them.
