I am from this area of California, not Maricopa specifically, but near. Anyway this town is EXTREMELY conservative and he's been the sheriff there for quite some time. He hands out ccw like candy. When I say extremely conservative I mean that is an understatement. It's all oil town and very anti obama. That being said, when most other "birthers" had their time to shine they kind of gave up becuase of a previous point someone made that even if the birth certificate was fake it would he extremely difficult to prove he wasn't a citizen or wasn't born here etc. But knowing people from that area and such, he's just got a vendetta against Obama and is very driven to do anything, even small, to derail him. All in all its real. He's been in the news before for holding onto this idea and it looks like he's got a good case. When I first heard of him and his investigation I thought... ok no way they would ever make a forgery that was catchable. Fine he's prob Kenyan but no way they would drop the ball on this...looks like they did.
