Puppy jumped on a little kid at an off-leash park and the dad made me feel really bad.

That would make sense- if parents actually taught their children how to act around dogs, in general. But I’ve definitely met people (adults) who have been hauled out via ambulance from the dog park… if you have a newborn in your arms & some large adults dogs, just took you out from crashing into you… honestly, if the adult needs to go to the hospital for a surgery from the impact… think about the damage that could happen to a newborn?

We frequently call the dogs chasing one another around fur missiles & the dogs, in general, are aware of where they are going.

Then I’ve heard of horrific dog fights that happen at the dog park. Nah, children should be banned for just safety purpose alone. Plus, I’ve watched adults bring in toys & feed random dogs (without permission from their handler)- the toys alone can cause fights… think about your child who is unaware & tries to take a ball/toy from a strange dog? Your child get bit then the strange dog gets put down.

Too much can happen inside a dog park. & that’s inside a well run dog park. & knowing the risk of bodily injury… I’ve known people that have broken ribs because their own dog got super excited & jumped on them. Think about the injury towards a child? At least if the child is say 16 - they know better than a 10 year old or heaven forbid a newborn/toddler…
