I obviously don't know anything about your situation, but if you have no spare money left after buying a ring, maybe you should have a chat with your girlfriend about your finances and expectations. Not just so you can buy a Steam Deck. You should always have some financial reserves for when the unforeseen happens, and it's going to feel really painful if you're getting yourself in financial trouble over a ring that you're only buying because people are conformists who don't realize that the diamond and gold industries are just one big con. It's a symbolic thing, the symbolism still works perfectly fine if it's a ring you can actually afford.
