Gays cannot be married under the eyes of God, but what about under the eyes of the law?

I’m answering as an American, I really separate the two intellectually. I 100% believe that gay people pay taxes, serve in the military, and are human beings with every nuance that entails. Of course they should be entitled to the privilege of non-Church wedding with the person they love. The laws of secular society should reflect the views of the majority of its members.

As a Catholic, I 100% believe that marriage within the church is stronger and more fulfilling and not only from a spiritual perspective. When both parties are committed to a Catholic marriage, all of the pieces fall into place and life is better. I strongly believe that we Catholics should evangelize without alienating, because our secular representation should be a reflection of our actual population within society. Otherwise we become religious oppressors.
