Fun story.

I joined the military to pay for college. Got deployed to Iraq and spent some god awful time there that forever changed me as a person forever in ways I'm still dealing with to this day. Got out of the military after my enlistment ended and enrolled in school.

Had the audacity to develop PTSD, fell into a deep depression, got laid off from my job, and wound up having to drop out because I simply couldn't handle the work load and needed to focus on my mental health.

Only just recently finished paying all that money back to the government for the education I supposedly earned fighting for my country. I paid into the GI Bill, I did my time, and suffered for it because I dropped out due to mental health issues that all came from a deployment the military sent me on.

They got their money back and then some, I've still got mental health issues and a broken system that doesn't care much about doing anything for me.
