General Hospital Crew Members Sue ABC Over Covid Vax Mandate & Firing

You're comparing apples and oranges. Driving on the wrong side of the road is going out of your way to put lives (both yours and other people's) at risk. But even if you drive on the correct side of the road, there are still a multitude of things that could go wrong. Driving is a risky activity that you need a license or a permit in order to do, and you need to prove that you can do it safely before you're issued a license and therefore granted the privilege of driving without someone else in the car making sure you're doing everything correctly.

Your analogy is portraying all unvaccinated people as if they are all deliberately not wearing masks and going up to people and coughing on them. But it's not like that. There are plenty of people who are not vaccinated who are still willing to do other things to make sure they don't transmit the virus (wearing masks, maintaining a safe distance from others, getting tested regularly, etc.). My state has dropped a lot of its mask mandates; basically if you are fully vaccinated, you don't have to wear masks in most places. If you're not fully vaccinated, you must wear a mask. I currently am not fully vaccinated as I am due for a booster. Therefore I always wear a mask when I go out and stand a good distance away from others. When I see someone else wearing a mask, I assume they probably are not vaccinated, therefore I know to not stand too close to them; both for my own health and theirs.

Not all unvaccinated people are Karens about it, and keep in mind there are some people who genuinely do have health issues that make them unable to get vaccinated. Are those people "driving on the wrong side of the road simply because they want to"? Not necessarily.

Also, as more people are getting vaccinated, the less likely it is for them to get serious complications from Covid. So when it boils down to it, the people who are most at risk from getting seriously ill or dying from Covid by having contact with an unvaccinated person are unvaccinated themselves.

All this being said, I support and encourage people getting vaccinated, and am glad that my family is vaccinated. At the same time, it is not my place to tell other people what to do with their bodies.
