I don't always dig as much as I should. In this case, I suspected something was weird because the bit that fuzzylittlepenguin was focused on was more like a small detail in a very politicized article. (And because the detail was contrary to widespread reporting.)

Media Bias / Fact Check rates JTA quite well:

Overall, we rate JTA Least biased from a left-right perspective, but pro-Israel in their political stance. We also rate them High for factual reporting due to proper sourcing.

So that made me want to check out their sources.

(They also rate Times of Israel highly, but they point out that ToI also has a 'blog' section that is less reliable. Trying to figure out whether fuzzylittlepenguin's article was from the blog section was how I initially found it was a reprint from JTA.)
