You can be better and worse at things. It's a positive thing to label things as what they are. Especially the things I've mentioned as they encourage improvement.

If you suck at basketball, for example, and need to become better I'm going to mention that. I'm not going to tell you that your skill is adequate as it wouldn't be. That wouldn't only be dishonest it would also be a detriment to you and the team and those relying on it to exceed.
