I started at a new school with my girlfriend at the time and met a whole new group of people. Fast forward a few months and my girlfriend and I broke up for various reasons. One of the new girls I met was incredible; she was smart, beautiful, chill personality.
She started dating a guy in my class while I was still dating my girlfriend and they dated for two years. Over this time we all hung out in our big friend group and I got to know her better, travelled with her, met her family and friends. Her grandma always asked why she couldn't date a guy like me, friends couldn't figure out why she wasn't dating me instead of this other guy. I didn't disagree with them but she was dating someone else, what was I supposed to do?
Well they finally break up after two years and this girl starts hanging out around me more. I ask her on a date to go out downtown, casual drinks, check out some new bars, nothing too presumptuous. We stay out late, I take her home after she denied just staying at my place, life goes on. A few months later we all go out in Asheville, NC, great drinking town. We are all sharing a hotel room and she says she'll share a bed with me.
Throughout the night she gets closer to me and kind of seems like she might want to cuddle. I try to put my arm around her and she freaks out and shoots back to her side of the bed. Ok, point taken.
I sort of let it all go until one of our mutual friends got married. The drinks start flowing and she grabs me by my tie and pulls me onto the dance floor. We dance all night, slow dance, grinding, we had a blast. once again a few of us are sharing a hotel room so we go upstairs to change before going out to the bars.
When we get to the room she asks me to help her out of her dress. I unclasp the loop of the dress around her neck and she lets it drop revealing that she wasn't wearing a bra and had on some incredibly sexy cheeky lace underwear. Being slightly intoxicated and confidence running high I tried to move in and kiss her. She pulls back and says we should hurry up to meet everyone downstairs, so, spirits trodden on we all go out and then sleep in separate beds at the end of the night. I guess she's just comfortable around me but has no intimate interest. It's not that hard to understand, just stings a little bit.
Tl;dr: taking your clothes off in front of someone still isn't a sign you should go for it.
