GP Charlotte coverage - what did you think?

SCGLive is one of the best production teams on Twitch. You guys are seriously impressive.

  • Quick Questions can be painfully awkward. Prepare a list of excellent Quick Questions that show off the strengths of pro players. They're Spikes, so ask questions Spikes are comfortable being asked. Try to arrange it so that it's more conversational, and the players get to interact with each other, not just with the interviewer. Random ideas for changing/replacing Quick Questions: fast-forward replay analysis with one or two pros. Two players piloting similar decks: have them talk about the differences. Maybe a lighthearted low-stakes high-speed one-of match with preconstructed decks. (A bit like Spellslingers, I guess.) You could even have them play each other's decks. Have a buzz-in quiz-bowl: name this art, name the card with this rules text, etc.

  • Rearrange the screen format of Deck Techs. It's often desirable to show multiple cards at once, for example. The table of laid-out cards doesn't translate well to the screen. Maybe use a splitscreen view with a vertical camera, like you do for feature matches. Instead of showing just a maindeck and sideboard decklist at the beginning of the Deck Tech, show the maindeck broken into logical sections (e.g. mana dorks/removal/countermagic/the combo/tutor targets/whatever), and return to this view throughout the Deck Tech.

  • Nick Miller has many strengths. Interviewing people on camera is not one of them. <3 you Nick.

  • I've suggested this before, but I'd like to see a bit of content emphasizing that there are SCG events happening all over – near you! – right now. Highlight a bit of social media collected from these events, mention unusual decks with good results, post Tweeted photos of ridiculous boardstates, shoutout the winners of events that completed earlier, show a map with this week's Super IQs, etc.
