The Great Escape

Eleven is a crabmans dozen. The superstition goes that back in the day there was a crab fisherman, who always brought back 15 crabs home. No matter how long he had to stay out he would be sure to bring back 15. Twelve to sell, and three to keep. One for him, his wife and his daughter.

One day, a storm came in. A real bad one. All of the fisherman’s equipment was ruined in the storm and he had no way to make money, or feed his family. So he swam out to where his best spot was and tried to free dive down after the crabs.

A day later his body washed up on shore with only eleven crabs in the basket attached to him, he no doubt died trying to get his solid 15 to feed his family.

His wife was stricken with grief and died just a short while after. His daughter, understanding his struggle and sacrifice, vowed to make something of herself and honor her father’s legacy. She went to college, got a degree, and ended up becoming a part owner of one of the biggest seafood distributers in the world. She ended up meeting a wonderful man, falling in love, and settling down to live the good life. Her husband proposed to her in the roar of a crowd in 1998 when The Undertaker threw mankind off hell in a cell, and plummeted 16 feet through an announcers table.
