Greg Popovich Says White People don't understand what Black People Go Through

just stating the obvious well, there's the trick bud- what is obvious to some, isn't to others.
Not trying to pick a fight (I'll save my venom for gaming boards) but I feel what Pop is saying: what is obvious or true kinda depends.
I live in the deep south; my kids are now all over 20 (and white). My sister's kids are mostly the same age, with a black father. Even though my kids and my nieces/nephews grew up in the same time, in basically the same neighborhood, they had different experiences. Case in point: my kids and my sister's were celebrating my daughter's birthday on Beale St in Memphis. It was her 21st and she was being a bit "silly". Her cousins were trying to round her up and get her back to the hotel. She may or may not have said something to a member of the Memphis PD. All five cousins were trying to mitigate circumstances; newly-minted 21 white girl, a little over-served, a little obnoxious, let's get her back home before the puking starts. Alright, that all sounds reasonable... she has sober family around her, that's easy.
The drunk, stupid, pretty little white girls got a pass and went home easy. The older, sober, but not-white enough USMC combat vet cousin had to talk himself out of trouble.
Does this sound OK to you?
