Haim Releasing Something To Tell You Documentary

Both?

It's just not very interesting. The Arcade Fire "Judas!" criticism is really played out too, since many people have treated them like that ever since the Grammys six years ago, even though they stayed on an indie.

I'd much rather read critiques of Fleet Foxes, which seem to be less frequent. There's definitely an unfair association of bands who use electronic elements and "sellout." These more reactionary "let's pretend it's the '60s" indie folk bands are actually the biggest sellouts imo, aping a sound that has proven super profitable for acts like Mumford and Lumineers, all the while fretting preciously about how pure and indie they are.

Haim makes no pretense of being some small band the way Fleet Foxes do, and to their credit, neither does VW. Rostam was very open about how MVOTC was produced using the exact same processes as contemporary pop and rap albums. Both VM and Haim (who I believe are friendly with one another- and shared producers) are very poptimist, and I'm sure they'd have no issue with being exiled to popheads, they'd both love that.

But channeling one's anger at the way this sub is moderated into mocking the band's clothes is stupid and it does play into a tendency for all Haim comments here to be about wanting to marry them or whatever rather than anything music related. Haim threads here are almost reminiscent of 4chan threads on Chvrches back in the day.
