He has an ‘R’?

Then you had young dumbasses in band/orchestra learn the word 'ritardando' (it means to gradually slow in speed-opposite to accelerando) and was sometimes written into our music as 'rit'.

A bunch of band nerds going around occasionally trying to make a 'ritardando' joke.

It did make the medical term of 'mental retardation' make a bit more sense tho from a language perspective, even though we were already shifting away from that term.

Bright side was that it seemed my high school was really really accepting of those with disabilities. There were a few notable disabled kids that loved to say good morning and everyone was so nice to them.

If you ever even looked at these kids wrong, you'd have every group from the Football team to the AP students that would probably drag your ass to the principal office themselves and you were permanently labelled a premium asshole. It was nice to see.
