I tried Airbnb for the first time last month for a 5 day stay in France. Even though I was paying almost €50 a night, it felt as if I was homeless and the host was giving me a place to stay out of their good heart. In one place, the host wanted to know my age, my entire vaccination history, etc, before telling me she doesn't rent to men. In the other place, I was told I had properly clean up, or I'll be fined €30 for every extra hour of cleaning required. In the third place, the host told me I can't be in the room between 9am and 7pm because he uses the room to teach music. Very horrible experience trying to get a place. Don't recommend the hassle.
