He only speaks the truth!

t's not about whether it's John responsibility to step up now than it is the Royals have on right to be lecturing him on how to govern. Also, a King doesn't have to "step up." Recall that a King is followed based on his whims. Just as Arlo doesn't have to be a paragon of justice to the bullied, that is, Arlo doesn't have to stand up for the bullied, so too does John not actually have to do anything. Whether John decides to be a paragon of virtue for the less-fortunate is up to him.

Arlo doesn't have the right, that's for sure, but the others have seen the error of their ways and are trying to change. Also, I didn't buy into Arlo's stupid ideology when he did it, I sure won't when John does it. I don't care who is king, all I care about is the king doing a good job. Arlo should have done a good job, but he didn't, so I think of him as a bad leader. The same goes for John.

Nope. Government A was still acting government. Government B showed what can happen if Government A doesn't get its act together, that is, B going ham on them. Government B was actually willing to allow Government A to continue being the government, yet Government A continued to fuck up. Get it? John never wanted to be King.

If you claim that John should be King to enact his ideals, then why are you spouting about doing what's right or not, regardless of the person that is crowned King?

I interpreted your analogy as Government A being All of the royals, while Government B is John, Not as Gov A being just Arlo like you are now implying. The whole Government A B thing is confusing, Either way, both went too far as soon as their fight started to mess with the public.

Because when focussing on the hierarchy as a whole, I believe that it is stupid and dumb and should be abolished. I know that's not going to happen anytime soon, so I want whoever is in charge to get rid of it or at least ease the suffering of the lower tiers. Now I'm frustrated because John has that power, and can do whatever he wants, yet refuses to and is instead acting like a tyrant and is actively hindering a revolution by vowing to destroy the safehouse.

Good intentions, absolutely good intentions - but wrong execution. The Royals should remember their victims and issue an apology (I see this happening in the safe house). Nonetheless, they do not have the virtue right to suddenly spin 180 and look like angels.

I agree 100%. It was jarring to many readers.

This is inconsistent with the story. Remi didn't try to stop Blyke from firing at John when John slapped her hand away. Remi didn't try to stop Zeke and his lackeys from bullying others. Remi turned a blind eye to all the bullying Arlo did. Are you seriously telling me Remi was just not present when all the bullying was going on? Now Remi is on a moral crusade?

I might be remembering this incorrectly, but didn't she tell Blake to leave him alone afterward? Remi wasn't around Zeke much to see what was going on, and Arlo rarely bullied people, just frightened them into submission, and of course, that's going to happen because he's king, rich, and tall. Heck, I would be scared around Arlo. She can't exactly yell at him for people listening to him without hesitation all the time, in fact, they do the same thing to her because of her social standing. Remi is naive and sheltered.

One last thing, her changing her ideals is character development. Even if we look at everything from the most cynical point of view, she's trying to improve her school now. There's nothing wrong with that.
